Modern stair lift technology offers a lot of different features for the home user. Knowing about the availability of these features can help you reach a better buying decision. Manufacturers have taken into account a variety of issues and offer features to solve those problems for in-home use, from speed control and carriage assembly to stair layout and wheelchair accessibility.

If you're worried that a stair lift might be too fast for you and throw you off balance during transit, look for a model with soft start and soft stop technology. The unit will gradually increase speed from an idle position, and then slow again before coming to a halt. Most stair lift units also come equipped with safety belts for an added dimension of stability during use, as well as safety edges which will prevent the unit from traveling forward if another object is obstructing the stairway.

Straight-rail stair lifts are the easiest lifts to install and typically cost less than curved-rail stair lifts because they require less customization. Curved-rail stair lifts often have to be custom-fitted to the stairway where they will be installed, which can be more time-consuming and costly for an installer. Also, be aware that travel speed on curved-rail lifts will vary more, since the unit has to slow down to safely travel around curves. Outdoor models are also widely available. These stair lifts have improved weather-proofing for use on exterior stairs or in garages and carports. Consult an installation technician if you are unsure as to which of these models would be best for your home.

Also, consider what kind of carriage you want your lift to have. Most stair lifts have a seat with arm and foot rests to offer added stability during travel. Some simply use a very basic seat design, called a perch, without additional supports. Perch seat designs also are made for people who would rather stand on the lift than sit every time they ascend or descend. If you need the lift to accommodate a wheelchair, most Heavy Duty models can be fitted with a platform with beveled edges or moveable flaps which keep the wheelchair in place during motion and fold down to act as a ramp for maneuvering the wheelchair onto the stairs.

No two people who elect to buy a stair lift will have identical needs. Do your part as a consumer to be informed and know what you need out of your lift, and consult multiple manufacturers and distributors to make sure all of your concerns are addressed before you make the decision to buy. A good stair lift salesperson will be more interested in your individual needs than in making a sale - and that's the salesperson to whom you'll want to give your business.

why do these type of dreams happen to me?

You know when you are about to fall asleep and you are in a type of dream like state but you know you are falling asleep and therefore are still semi concious?
when im in this state i always see nice scenes...anyways i had examples such as being on top of a high place looking down on all this nature, riding a bicycle along a nice trial or climbing up/down stairs *all of which i enjoy in real life except the stairs part*
but then this is the part where i kinda fall and its really a great shock because then i wake up, it really felt like i fell fast and hard but then i realize, im actually in bed and that freaks me out because i dont know why this happens to me all the time

Well I know when I try to fall asleep I generally think of places I enjoy or things that I enjoy.
I read an article saying imagining happy things helps you fall asleep faster.Maybe its that.
