From Stephen: From a design standpoint, this is Rabbit Wine Opener is a very good product. Have a bottle of wine handy on which you've already used the supplied (and very good) little foil cutter to remove the foil over the cork.
Take the unit in your hand and look at the movable parts. The overhead lever that swings outward / downward and then is reversed / brought back over the top - moves the spiral corkscrew up and down. To see this, operate the overhead lever with one hand while holding the clamping "side handles" with the other. When you move the overhead handle the corkscrew rotates.

From Matt: I originally bought this corkscrew as a gift, but wound up keeping it, and I admit I've bought more wine than usual lately just to play with it.
I have to say, my favorite thing about it is the foil cutter, strange though that may be. The foil cutter is shaped like an oversized bottle cap, and you fit it over the top of the bottle, squeeze, and turn. The foil comes off cleanly just above the little ridge usually found around the mouth of the wine bottle. Very clean-looking and much easier than using the often dull blade on a waiter's corkscrew.
The corkscrew itself is very nice as well. It is a little bulky, but it is amazing how fast you can open a bottle of wine with it. Line it up, pull the lever forward, push it back, et voila. Forward and back once more and the cork is free of the screw. Australian food not available in London?
Hi! I was wondering if there are any Aussies in London (or who have been to London) who could tell me what aussie food they can't buy there? Like twisties, burger rings, kit-kats maybe??

There's an Australian shop at Covent Garden, near the back of the walkabout there. They sell things to ease home-sickness, tim-tams, burger rings, cherry ripes, chips, solo drinks etc. Hit them up, I do once in a while to save my sanity.
We used to have an Australian shop down the road fro us at Willesden Green as well (not the best thing, used to drop in and buy things all the time). Unfortunately the shop is now closed but I think they still trade online -look up sanza shop online and see how you go.
