Orbs, Spirits, Ghosts?

We moved into a new place (for us) 5 weeks ago. It was built in 1892 and we don't have any history on it. We seem to have Orbs in many of our pictures and we have experienced smells (male sweat in bathroom) noises (slamming doors) and activity (opening cabinets when they are double latched.) we have no fear and everyone who has come into our home comments that they feel calm and peaceful when they are here.. to the point where they do not want to leave! Is this paranormal? is it a vivid imagination? My husband and I along with our 10 yr old are very receptive to anything. My 15 month old grandson seems to talk to people or things we cannot see. How do I find out if there really is something going on?
