A focal point can be created in the interiors to anchor the entire decor scheme. As a central piece, you can use an unusual piece of furniture, an artifact, an exquisite rug or a single work of art.
The visual impact of a large painting is much more than what a cluster of several smaller pieces create. A large artwork works effectively in creating an aesthetic focal point for the decor through its size, composition and colours.
Generally, a large painting or even a mural would fit in well in a living or dining room. The painting can be typically hung over the sofa, or a sideboard or any other dominant piece of furniture, ensuring it occupies a visually central space while allowing one to create a seamless look around it.
While doing so, it is important to ensure the colour scheme of the walls, drapes and upholstery complement the artwork.
