A typical garage door in an average household is opened and closed 10-20 times per day,therefore, giving you a lot more benefit than you may realize. Garage door, if left unmaintained, will eventually fail causing not only inconvenience, but possibly even damage or harm to your vehicles, your home and even to your family members and yourself.

Painting is the first and most important defense against moisture and sun damage to your door. It does not only provides protection,it also looks attractive. Every couple of years most wooden garage doors will require to be painted . Wood will be hard to repair and it won’t look good, once rotted. It may even reach the point where door has to be replaced. A good investment in the life of your garage door can be gain by ensuring all cracks are filled and protected with paint. Garage doors made of high-quality steel, aluminum or fiberglass should be put in the same care and keep them well-protected from the elements.

Once a month perform routine maintenance. The most common dilemma that homeowners encounter is difficulty in opening the garage door.
