How thick are: 6 gauge solid copper wire tubing and 8 gauge copper wire tubing, respectively?
I am constructing a Tesla Coil and am in need of a certain type of solid copper wire tubing, and have two choices from local stores. If either is 1/4 inches thick, that would be good to know.
Confused by your terms. Tubing is hollow, like a pipe.
so "solid copper wire tubing" is a contradiction.
Assuming solid copper wire,
AWG (American Wire Gage) #6 is 0.162" in diameter
#8 is 0.129". To get to 1/4 inch in diameter, you need #2 AWG
