Why would water be dripping from the main air duct in my basement?
I noticed that there is water dripping from the large, main air duct in my basement, but only in one spot. What is a likely cause and how can it be treated?
Condensation is the most likely cause, if your running the air-conditioner. The drain pan under the A coil or evaporator coil of the air-conditioner is leaking. The condensation drain from the A/C is stopped up and overflowing into the main duct work. There may be a water line or drain line above the duct work that's leaking. You have no insulation wrapped around metal duct work.
